While enjoying their summer break in New York [instead of in Chicago, the city that hosts their college Columbia] Mike Waxx & Mike Carson
have been working strong at putting the finishing touches on illRoots 2. Boundless TV, a series created by Imagination Detonation, caught up with the duo earlier this month.
It’s kind of cool how I’m a 16 year old blogging a video made by a 17 year old who interviewed a couple of 18 year olds.

Markell Clay Unleashes “Trey Songz” Diss

This is most definitely something you don’t see everyday. Markell Clay was annoyed that Trey Songz says his name in every song [although sometimes every song sounds the same], & he reached a point of being so fed up, that he created a diss track. The beauty in it, is that Kellz has such a great voice, he can make any song sound great.
The irony is though, is that Markell’s nickname is Kellz, which R.Kelly is sometimes called, who was once dissed by Trey Songz.

Kanye West Ditches ‘Good Ass Job’ title

In a recent turn of events, Kanye West has made two somewhat big moves. First, he joined twitter, & it seems like [for now] it is actually him tweeting. Second [& more important] he plans to change the name of Good Ass Job [his next album].
‘Ye wrote “The album is no longer called “Good Ass Job” I’m bouncing a couple of titles around now.”
I view this as a win.

In indie music news, XV has signed with Warner Bros. Records. After being shut out of XXL’s 2010 freshmen, this is a big step for him So congrats.

Abe Lincoln & STDs?

So right now that I’m sick for the 6th straight day [the same number of days I've been home from Orlando], it is safe to say I’ve done my share of TV watching. Since season 2 of Jersey Shore is debuting at the end of July, MTV has been shoving reruns into our brains. A few minutes ago during an ad, I saw this commercial from MTV’s GYT [Get Yourself Tested].
I thought it was mildly funny.
Wait, MTV launched GYT which talks about STDs? Too many acronyms.

The video for illRoots 2 dropped tuesday but I was traveling back from Orlando then, & I was sick yesterday [I still am sick] so I wasn’t able to view it to today.
Let me say, this is crazy. Basically, the whole point of the video [& the accompanying text] is that illRoots is moving from a music blog, to an entertainment provider. Rather than re-posting music like other blogs, the new illRoots will be delivering the content.

Consequence of Sound Quotes @WeirdoeClothing on Kid Cudi

If you do not remember, Kid CuDi was arrested after playing a impromptu show in Soho [the same weekend as Bonnaroo, the US embarrassing England in the World Cup, and the Back To The Future marathon].
During the time, Weirdoe Clothing was very influential in the breaking of the story, from first quoting TMZ, to later nearly using Plain Pat as a direct source. One of the websites that was interested in the Cudi story was Consequence of Sound. Cos wrote that even though MTV had stated Scotty [MesCudi] was still in jail, they also published that WRDO had said he was bailed out [via Plain Pat].
Let’s take this moment in time to celebrate not only the fact that this is crazy, but also that I was right, & MTV was wrong.

Where to View My Old Blog Posts !

In addition to posting at Weirdoe Clothing, I also blog on YHGM. At times it is mostly just me posting the same thing. One of the perks of this, is that I have everything I deleted “backed-up.”
Occasionally I will forget to post something [such as when I was breaking the Kid Cudi jail story]. In addition, due to the limitations of bloggers, some of the music posts you can listen to the audio, & of course the links linking to the old WRDO blog do not work.
