Ever since Ellie Goudling dropped "Lights" last year, the song has been a part of countless remix, including those to the likes of Bassnectar & Xaphoon Jones. On the other hand, classical music is alieve & wel [much to any elementary school class's disbelief] & putting a symphonic spin on modern day instruments is quite popular.
What do the two have to with each other? Well, The Hood Interent decided to mix PORTLAND CELLO PROJECT's cover of Kanye West's "All of the Lights" with the vocals of Ellie's Lights. I love both, but I'm not quite sure how I feel with them mashed [but I'm sure one out there will].
Why am I blogging about this a month late? Because if I just found it, chance are you did to.
So in September [after the release of The Nicki Effect] DJ Ev & Leak Jones announced they were planning on releasing a Kanye-filled mixtape, The Yeezy Effect. Honestly, I am going to start off by saying this is probably one of [if not] the best DJ mixtapes of the year. It features drops from the likes Kid CuDi, Lloyd Banks, & Big Sean, plus it gives you a description of the "Rosewood" movement. & yeah, there might be a couple discs of some of the best songs of 2010 [from Kanye, Jay-Z, Kid CuDi, Big Sean, & Pusha T among others].
But seriously, for some reason this mixtape makes songs that normally I don't like, sound good. Listen above and view the tracklist below.
So i don't really care that you've already heard this, there is someone out there who hasn't & I'm doing this for them [haha]. So Child Rebel Soldier is back, & if you have no idea who there are, it is the dream-team made up of Kanye West, Pharrell, & Lupe Fiasco.
For the lastest edition of G.O.O.D Friday Kanye decided to drop "Don't Stop" featuring the CRS cast. Download below, & if you haven't heard the orginal CRS track that woke people up [where have you been?] listen to "Us Placers" (featuring Thom Yorke of Radiohead).

In a recent turn of events, Kanye West has made two somewhat big moves. First, he joined twitter, & it seems like [for now] it is actually him tweeting. Second [& more important] he plans to change the name of Good Ass Job [his next album].
'Ye wrote "The album is no longer called "Good Ass Job" I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now."
